Montrose bar’s alcohol license revoked

(Roger Wilson/News-Press)"][/caption] From the Glendale News-Press MONTROSE — The Mix Bar in Montrose, long a source of anger for nearby residents, has closed after a state agency revoked its license to sell alcohol to patrons last week, officials said. The California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control suspended the bar’s alcohol license Feb. 26 because the state Board of Equalization put a hold on the business Thursday for back taxes. The Board of Equalization places holds on alcoholic beverage licenses if the business owner hasn’t paid taxes for more than three months, according to the agency.
