Mandatory evacuations have been lifted for much of La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta and Glendale, county officials announced Friday morning. The evacuations were ordered at 9 a.m. Wednesday due to the threat of mudslides in the Station fire burn areas. Hard evacuations remained in place for a few streets in the Crescenta-Cañada area, including Briggs Terrace, Ocean View Boulevard, Rock Castle Road, La Forest Drive and Escalante Drive. Detailed evacuation updates are available at www.dpwcare.com. Reentering residents will be required to show identification to sheriff's deputies. A week of heavy rain caused minor debris flows, and damaged several properties in the local foothill communities. Flooding, however, was less severe than predicted. "We dodged a bullet, partly because some of the storms were not as intense as predicted," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Chief Neal Tyler said.
