La Cañada Flintridge business owners kept their doors open late Wednesday, welcoming customers and serving refreshments as part of the first city-wide holiday open house event.
Organized by Sue Stranger, owner of Adobe Design boutique, the open house was designed to jump-start the holiday shopping season and to remind local residents to spend their dollars in La Cañada. The open house took place in conjunction with the 50th anniversary celebration of Eiji's Flowers.
At Dickson Podley realtors children lined up to take pictures with Santa Claus, while across the street attendees filled out raffle tickets to win a free bluetooth from AT&T.
The place to be, however, was Rinetti Lane where brother Ernest and Alfredo Delgado were dancing in front of their salon, Nuovo, to tunes spun by a DJ. Just next door, dozens of people crowded into Eiji's Flowers where they congratulated proprietor Hannah Tomita on five decades of business in La Cañada.
